9 Organizations Empowering Women in the Great Outdoors

As Women's History Month approaches, it's important to acknowledge the countless contributions women have made to various fields, including outdoor recreation. From mountaineering to kayaking, conservation to gear designwomen have shattered stereotypes and broken barriers in the great outdoors. To celebrate and honor women's achievements, we’ve complied nine incredible outdoor women's organizations that have been making a difference in the industry. Each of these orgs empower and encourage women to get outside and enjoy all that nature has to offer!

 1. Camber Outdoors 

Camber Outdoors is a non-profit organization that encourages women to get involved in the outdoor industry. They offer resources and networking opportunities for women working in the outdoor sector and work with companies to create more inclusive workplaces. Their goal is to create a more diverse and representative outdoor community where everyone feels welcome.

 2. Outdoor Women's Alliance

As one of the largest grassroots organizations, Outdoor Women's Alliance aims to uplift women through outdoor adventure. They offer events, clinics, and mentorship programs to help women build skills and confidence. SheJumps is a non-profit organization that encourages women and girls to get outside and take risks.  4. Girls Who Hike

They also provide a leadership training program for women and school-aged girls.

 7. Unlikely Hikers

Unlikely Hikers is a community that celebrates diversity in the outdoors. They aim to challenge stereotypes and create a more inclusive outdoor community. The organization provides resources and support for individuals who may not fit the traditional image of an outdoor adventurer and encourages everyone to embrace the beauty and joy of nature. 

 8. Black Girls Trekkin'

Black Girls Trekkin' is a community of Black women who love hiking and the outdoors. They offer resources and support for women looking to get outside, and they celebrate the joy of exploring nature. The organization aims to increase representation in the outdoor industry and inspire women of color to connect with nature.

 9. Woman's Adventure Film Tour 

The Women's Adventure Film Tour is a collection of films that showcase women's adventures in the outdoors. They aim to inspire and empower women to get outside and push their limits. The organization celebrates the strength and resilience of women who have overcome obstacles to achieve their goals in the outdoors.
